John decided to quit smoking after reaching a point where he was fed up with habit, tired of feeling controlled by it and increasingly concerned about what it might mean for his future health. Wanting to make a positive change, he decided to contact his local stop smoking service and had weekly support with his advisor Julia at the Wakefield One clinic.

Each time John attended his appointments, he brought along his dog, Roscoe. Roscoe wasn’t just company – he is also part of John’s motivation.

John knew that smoking can be harmful to pets, and the thought of exposing Roscoe to second-hand smoke strengthened his determination to quit.
John now feels he can breathe much easier and is glad he has taken the steps to quit. Looking after Roscoe meant looking after himself too.

Congratulations on your quit, John! Enjoy some nice long walks with Roscoe and do bring him back to visit us!
