I referred myself to Yorkshire Smokefree Wakefield using their website and met with Carol and Clare at Airedale Library. I was fed up with spending my first few waking hours coughing my guts up, being out of breath, and out of pocket. It doesn’t help when you can have takeaways and cigarettes delivered to your door at the push of a button, so it took a lot of willpower to get where I am today. I was becoming lazy, and something needed to change.
When attending meetings at work, I can now smell when someone has been smoking, and it occurred to me that I used to be that person. I was referred to a nutritionist who helped me adopt healthier eating habits so that the void stopping smoking creates wasn’t filled with takeaway food. My eating habits have now changed for the better, and I no longer feel out of breath. I also have more energy to go about my daily routine and focus on my career.
