What was your main reason for accessing service? E.g. health, financial, COVID – 19 or other .....
Grandkids, Lung Health and Money. I was referred from the lung health check programme and had not thought about stopping before, which got me thinking of my grandkids, my health and the money for how much Cigarettes have gone up.

Did you believe you could achieve 4 weeks Smokefree?
Yes, very determined to stop smoking once I had decided.

Have you used stop smoking medication to help you quit?
Years ago, when I stopped, I just quit. I have been using the Patches and Inhalator this time and they have really helped me.

How helpful did you find it?
I found the medication helpful this time.

Apart from medication, what else helped you to quit and stay smokefree?
I have been using patches and an Inhalator. Years ago, when I stop I just quit without anything. This time I thought of my grandchildren, seeing the money I am saving and my health, which all helped me stay focused.

Has your health improved since you quit and if so, in what ways?
-Breathing better and walking better
-Food tasting better.
-Not coughing as much
-Not wheezing in bed

Other than health, have you achieved anything since quitting that you couldn’t do whilst smoking?
A lot more Energy with my grandchildren and working

What have you found helpful accessing the service Face To Face
I have found Face to Face support a lot better because I don’t think I would have done it over the phone.

Could you give us a quote about your experience of becoming smokefree that may help others to take the same step.
I saw smoking as a stress reliever when really all I needed was to get away from the situation.

I wish I hadn’t started smoking but in the 70’s everyone did and you followed everyone. If I could go back, I would say not to start.
