What was your main reason for accessing the service?

I decided to attend the Yorkshire Smokefree Service primarily for health reasons as smoking has begun to impact my overall health.

Did you believe you could achieve 4 weeks Smokefree?

Yes, when I became a service user at Yorkshire Smokefree Service, I was extremely motivated to become smoke free.

Have you used stop smoking medication to help you quit?

Yes, I used Nicotine Replacement Therapy (i.e Patches and Spray) to support me in my quit.

How helpful did you find it?

I found these products extremely helpful in my quit, which allowed me to stop smoking from day one.

Apart from medication, what else helped you to quit and stay smokefree?

The support provided by Emma in combination with the support from my peers in the Stop Smoking Group were the key drivers in my quit. The groups are welcoming and delivered in a way that would ease the nerves of anyone attending a group for the first time.

Did you visit the Yorkshire Smokefree Webpage?

Yes

Has your health improved since you quit and if so, in what ways?

Yes, I am now able to go for walks and play sport without getting out of breath within the first 5 minutes.

Other than health, have you achieved anything since quitting that you couldn't do whilst smoking?

I have been able to manage my money more efficiently and often able to use the money I would have spent on smoking to treating myself or building up my savings.

Has the current lockdown helped you with your quit or has this made quitting harder?

What have you found helpful accessing the service via the Telephone?

That I am able to access the service from home without leaving the house whilst continuing to receieve the excellent support provided by Emma and Yorkshire Smokefree.

Without the support of Emma and Yorkshire Smokefree Service, I would not have been able to stop smoking. The groups played a pivotal role in my success where I was able to learn from other experience in a welcoming environment.
